The Elson - getting there

Here we have the enigine area which i've packed with as many greeblies that will fit.

The gap on the top front section that i was going to cover up i've now decided to leave as is and have as some sort of air scoop (what a lazy cheat i am)

The yellow spaceship thing on the back shelf reminds me of a ship I made many years ago from the main engine of the Airfix Harrier Jump Jet. I posted some pics of it here
on my Blog, I started making a CG version of this ship recently but my original model is over 10 years old now I'd say, got it featured in Sci Fi and Fantasy modeller mag at the time.
Started doing some non CG stuff, posted a Tie Fighter pic on my Blog which is the MPC model and I'm sculpting a full head mask at the moment, though I've just started that.

Well what a small world - my yellow ship is indeed made from the Harrier AND IT WAS EXACTLY YOUR ARTICLE IN SF&FANTASY THAT GAVE ME THE IDEA.
Ta for the link, that's a brilliant ship you've got there and a top notch paint job to boot

Small world, do you have any better pics of it I could see, it looks like you've got clear glass on the eye bits on yours ! Mine were just EMA Black domes, not finished my CG version yet, too much other stuff to be on with !

Yeah, i'll take some tomorrow. My one's eyes are indeed clear - they're the clear halves of those balls with toys in that you find in supermarkets etc.
Another thing: See on your Blog that you did a CGI variant of the Blakes Seven Pursuit Ship.
Keep an eye out on my blog in about a week - have a lovely resin jobbie winging its way from the States (Time Distort 0.00000000001)

Ooh is it the one by the guys at Titan Find ? If it is that looks like a fab model !!

It is the Titan Find version. So happy to have got one - was gutted when the first batch sold out right away and got in there quick once the second lot was in.
Which is just as well - did toy with the idea of scratchbuilding one a la the article in a recent SF & Fantasy. But there's too many Saturn V bits to track down.

I don't know if you seen the other Federation Pursuit ship I made on my blog, a CG one I have down as a Pulsar Class ship, I've always been tempted to use the Saturn V parts I have here to model a real world version of this. It's about half way down my Blake's 7 section Here
I really want to start getting back into real stuff a lot more, I have lots of CG ships now that I'd love to make real models of. Ideally in the long term I'd love to build a large model of the HMS Camden Lock which I designed and built for TV's Hyperdrive.Or if I win the lottery get someone else to build it !!

Yeah, go on - get back into the real stuff.
CGI's all very well, but it can't beat clay under the fingernails, scalpel cuts, paint everywhere, not browsing the kitchen wares sections of supermarkets looking for interesting shapes.
